12 Days of Christmas Book Tag

My friend's Courtney from The Green Mockingbird and Rissi from Finding Wonderland are doing this fun Christmas book tag and I thought I'd play along.

ON THE FIRST DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: A PARTRIDGE IN A PEAR TREE. The partridge stood alone in the pear tree. What is your favorite stand alone?

Gosh, I have so many stand alone favorites but I'm going to choose an oldie. . .  The Mistress of Tall Acre by Laura Frantz.

ON THE SECOND DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: TWO TURTLE DOVES. Love is in the air! Who is your one true pairing?  Charlie and Ella from The Lady and the Lionheart by Joanne Bischof.

The Lady and the Lionheart

ON THE THIRD DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: THREE FRENCH HENS. In the spirit of threes, what is the best trilogy you have read?

Boy, this will be tough! I've read some great trilogies over the years. Hmmmm. . .

The Daughter's of Boston by Julie Lessman

The Discarded Heroes by Ronie Kendig

The Porter Family by Becky Wade

In the spirit of threes, I gave you three of my favorites!

ON THE FOURTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: FOUR CALLING BIRDS. Since series usually consist of four or more books, what is your favorite series?

The Hagenheim Series by Melanie Dickerson would have to be my favored series and it's up to book ten.

ON THE FIFTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: FIVE GOLDEN RINGS. One ring to rule them all! Who is your Favorite Villain/Antagonist?

Ronie Kendig, and Susan May Warren write some of the best villain's. I think my favorite villain really is when the protagonist battles within.

ON THE SIXTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: SIX GEESE A LAYING. Creation is a beautiful thing. What is your favorite world/world-building?

Ronie Kendig does this so well. Especially with her Abiassa's Fire series and her new Droseran series

ON THE SEVENTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: SEVEN SWANS A SWIMMING.
Who needs seven swans when all it takes is one good animal sidekick? Who’s your favorite animal sidekick?

Miss Behave, the parrot in Love at any Cost. This parrot did anything but behave!

Jen Turano has a pig and a goat in two of her books A Match of Wits and Playing the part. You can read about all the fun sidekicks HERE

ON THE EIGHTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: EIGHT MAIDS A MILKING. Milk is so 18th century. Which book or series takes beverages/food to a whole new level?

The moment I read this question only one author came to mind. Carla Laureano and her Saturday Night Supper Club!

ON THE NINTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: NINE LADIES DANCING. Dancing is just one skill of a Lady! Who is your favorite kickass female lead?

Susan May Warren's Ruby Jane from her Montana Marshalls series.

ON THE TENTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: TEN LORDS A LEAPING. How about your favorite leading lad?

**WARNING** This list may be a little long!!!

Red Shirt from Courting Morrow Little by Laura Frantz

Ty Porter from the Porter Family series by Becky Wade

Collin McGuire from the Daughter's of Boston series by Julie Lessman

Knox, Ford, Wyatt, and Tate from the Montana Marshalls by Susan May Warren

Tox from the Tox Files by Ronie Kendig

I could go on but I better stop!

ON THE ELEVENTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: ELEVEN PIPES PIPING. What is your favorite book or bookish thing with musical influence? (It can be about music, reference music a lot etc.)

Again, I knew which books the moment I read the question.

The Butterfly and the Violin by Kristy Cambron

The Melody of the Soul and When the Heart Sings by Liz Tolsma

ON THE TWELFTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: 12 DRUMMERS DRUMMING. What’s your favorite book ending?

Every book in this list fits this question. I like books that are tied up neatly but I also like books that leave a little bit of a hang for the following book in a series. I really enjoyed, I mean super enjoyed The Camera Never Lies by David Rawlings so that gets my vote. All of James Rubart's books fit this question as well.

OHMYGOSH! I spy so many favorites; I wish I'd thought of The Mistress of Tall Acre. I remember being blown away by how good that one is! Of course, Charlie and Ella are always favorites. :) Anything by Becky Wade is a favorite, too; and Ty is forever and always as favorite leading man!

Charlie will always be a favored leading man! I agree about Becky Wade's books, and I love Ty as well. The Mistress of Tall Acre was, in my opinion, out of Laura Frantz's comfort zone. She'd written a series and then wrote a standalone. I enjoyed your list as well. So many great books!
