My Thoughts:

This is a fun enemies to more rom-com. It had social media fun with hashtags after hashtags. As well as the next-door business owners, battling each other. One likes all things British, and one is a transplant who is British. The townspeople get involved in this culinary tug-of-war, which only adds to the incredible delight. Lucy is just a darling sidekick as Finn's daughter. Daphne just nestles up to little Lucy when she's picked on at school for talking "funny." 
The entire book, from beginning to end, is full of drama and loads of fun! This is a must-read, and it is my favorite book of Pepper Basham's, and I've read all of her books.

My Thoughts: I love that the author took the childhood song, Jesus Loves Me, and created this soft cuddly, crinkly, cloth book that a child can carry around with them everywhere. There is a cute bookmark and a mirror at the end so the child can see themself and know that Jesus Loves Me Because the Bible Says So!

My Thoughts

Angela Ruth Strong writes stories that are powerful and full of redemption and dusted with perfectly timed comedic scenes. I have enjoyed all three books in this series. In this book, I was ready to pummel Charlie for leaving Nicole for a trip.

 

I mean a guy, Charlie, misses the wedding. . . how in the world do you miss your wedding?? Decide to take a trip to the Amazon?

Nicole struggles to forgive him for skipping their first wedding. With Ms. Strong's pen, she places Nicole and Charlie in very uncomfortable situations so they can both see what went wrong in their relationship.

Angela Strong tackles quite a bit in these pages; being afraid to love, redemption, hypocrisy within the church, and making peace with past relationships. That's a mouthful, but if you read this book, and I hope you do; you'll find yourself checking yourself about how you handle these issues and if you express love like Jesus would.

I have read and loved all three of these books in the Love Off Script series. This book can stand alone, but you may want to read the others for all the relationship content

My Thoughts

This book has big bright illustrations that kids will love and one that is perfect for bedtime reading. Especially, if you talk to your child about their day.

Harriet doesn't do anything slowly so when her day drags on for many different reasons and some things don't go her way she gets even more frustrated. The beauty of this sweet little story is when her Gran shows her the blessing in waiting and all that God does to make each day special, she just needs to slow down a bit to be able to see them and enjoy them.

My Thoughts:

This is an absolutely adorable book! The illustrations are big and colorful which grab little one's attention. The story inside is touching and is every parent and grandparent's heart for a little one. Wanting them to have a relationship with God, knowing that we love them. Mr. Hostetler writes a sweet tender book that any little one would love. It's made of sturdy cardboard able to handle a little one's attempt at destruction.

My Thoughts

I didn't realize that this was the fourth book in the series when I signed up. I clearly wasn't paying attention. I wish I would've read the other three books in the series so I could've had more connection with the characters. 

The story centered around a church ministry focusing on ex-gang members, addicts, and alcoholics. I really liked that Ms. Rodante used that as her premise. It also gave way to showing the darkness of spiritual warfare throughout the book. Which she portrayed very well. It makes you stop and look at what's going on in our world today. 

I was married to an alcoholic and I know firsthand the demon that exists within a bottle of booze.

Linda K. Rodante is a new author for me and I enjoy reading books with spiritual warfare in them so I definitely will be adding her books to my list.

Doesn't that sound good? I want to know who this guy is that just showed up to "get a handle on this colt."

I stand rigid, arms pinned to my sides as my mother wraps me in a loose

hug in Gram’s foyer. 

“I’m so glad we thought of this arrangement,” she says.

Arrangement. As if shipping me off and hiding me away is a plan we’d

come up with together. 

My father kisses me on the forehead, but it’s awkward. Probably a show

for my grandmother. He’s kissed plenty of babies on the campaign trail, after

all—this is likely no different. 

“Be good, Sweet Pea.” He turns to my grandmother, who barely comes up

to his armpits. “Keep in touch, Mom. Don’t hesitate to call if…” His gaze flicks

to me and he doesn’t finish his sentence.

What? Does he think I’ll find a cute boy in Gram’s retirement village? One

who will get me in bigger trouble than Bryan already has?

My Thoughts

Loving the unloveable and forgiving the unforgivable is the theme that runs throughout this beautifully crafted dual-time novel by Heidi Chiavaroli. I was immediately pulled into the story from the first line and couldn't stop reading. 

The characters were real and identifiable and struggled with real issues like we all do. The book paced easily between each time period. I never felt lost or confused.

The sweet relationship between Emily and her Grandmother, Gertie, was precious, especially how Emily continued to encourage her to go to Penikese Island.

The book from beginning to end was one of hope, forgiveness, and love. It is also one that will stay with you long after you turn the last page.
