Top Ten Tuesday Featuring Books I Loved Reading in School

Welcome to another edition of Top Ten Tuesday sponsored by that Artsy Reader Girl. Today's topic is books I loved or hated reading in school. I wasn't jumping up and down for assigned reading necessarily, but it did give me an excuse to read past my bedtime.

Elementary school. I think 2nd or 3rd grade.
Elementary school 2nd grade
I'll never forget this book. I was in 5th grade and my teacher read it aloud after lunch.
Middle school
High school, Junior year

Middle school

I think I read this in 6th grade.
I believe I read this in 4th or 5th grade.

High school, Junior year.

High school my freshman year.

So, did you read any of these books in school? Did you love them or hate them? Let me know in the comments.

I've only read Charlie and The Chocolate Factory and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe from this list, but I liked them a lot.

I can't believe you remember what year you read books!! It's all a blur to me and I don't remember any assigned reading in elementary or middle school (although I probably had some). Enjoy the rest of your week!

I remember reading The Scarlet Letter, The Great Gatsby and The Grapes of Wrath. I can’t say I loved them all.

Oh my goodness, I totally forgot about CRICKET IN TIMES SQUARE. I remember loving that book when I was a kid, although I can't remember a thing about it except for its title. I'll have to look for it so I can reread it. Thanks for the reminder!

Happy TTT!

I've actually read most of these (not something that happens often in these posts), but I vividly remember my 3rd grade teacher crying along with us at the end of Where the Red Fern Grows.

Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!

It's so funny, I'm not sure how I made to being almost 50 and never reading Are You There God?

I think teachers read Where the Red Fern Grows and The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe when I was in school, but I don't remember for sure. I hope you have a great week. - Katie

I love your list of books. Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret was one of my favorites. I read that book many, many times!

Thanks! It was a huge favorite.

I think so too! I homeschooled my girls and I read it to them.

Aymee, I think that was the worst! All of us had our heads down as she read and we were all bawling!

I loved that book! I don’t know exactly why but it was a huge favorite.

I read those too. Not a fan of The Scarlet Letter or Wuthering Heights. I loved The Great Gatsby and The Grapes of Wrath

I think it’s because we moved around so much and I remember where we were living. I read To Kill a Mockingbird my 4th grade summer. It was a gift from my teacher.

I kinda think it was for everyone. Lol

I loved both of them!!
