Title: The Vanishing at Castle Moreau
Author: Jamie Jo Wright
Genre: Dual Time Inspirational Gothic Historical Mystery Romance
In 1865, orphaned Daisy Francois takes a position as housemaid at a midwestern Wisconsin castle and finds that the reclusive and eccentric Gothic authoress inside hides more than the harrowing tales in her novels. With women disappearing from the area and a legend that seems to parallel these eerie circumstances, Daisy is thrust into a web that may threaten to steal her sanity, if not her life.
In the present day, Cleo Clemmons is hired by the grandson of American aristocratic family the Tremblays to help his matriarchal grandmother face her hoarding in the dilapidated Castle Moreau. But when Cleo uncovers more than just the woman's stashes of collectibles, a century-old mystery of disappearance, insanity, and the dust of the old castle's curse threatens to rise again, and this time, leave no one alive to tell its sordid tale.
Fan-favorite Jaime Jo Wright draws readers into a seamlessly woven dual-time tale of suspense, mystery, romance, and redemption.

My Thoughts
"Beauty exists where love begins."
Every time I sit down to read a Jamie Jo Wright novel I know I will be taken away to another time and place where things may go bump in the night. In this case the turning of a doorknob in a spooky castle and a woman with a crooked finger.
In The Vanishing at Castle Moreau, we have three time periods; 1801, 1870, and Present Day. In each time period, we meet three women; the girl, Daisy, and Cleo. They each hope that the castle will be a place of refuge from their demons. On a surface level, it is, however, the castle has secrets of its own and that opens an entirely new set of problems.
The mystery surrounding Castle Moreau is the disappearance of women behind the castle walls. Women go in but not all of them may come out. But are they being killed is the real question. According to the rumors floating around Needle Creek, Wisconsin women are being killed by someone or something at the castle.
Using a gothic setting and a spooky castle, Ms. Wright creates a story of healing and hope; giving those who have or are being abused a safe haven.
The twists and turns in this story had me glued to the page. I read this in less than 24 hours. The first time that's happened in a long time and I loved every minute.
My bottom line: This book will give you hope in the darkness. Jamie Jo Wright carefully and masterfully takes the secrets of the castle and untangles them into a beautiful art piece. I do love that Jamie Jo Wright uses the paranormal within her books but never compromises God's word. For a long time The Haunting at Bonaventure Circus has been my favorite book of hers... until this one! I believe it's her best book yet! So run to your nearest bookstore and get yourself a copy!!

Thanks, Cindy! You’re such a wonderful encourager! I love her books but I have to be in the mood for them. So, when I was in the mood I put down the book I was reading and started this one. Best plan! What book are you up to in her book stack? ☺️
