His Encouragement #18

Welcome back to my Thursday Encouragement! It's been a ridiculously crazy few months with my dad, who has dementia, falling chipping and cracking his hip which led to surgery and two weeks in a rehab facility where we couldn't see him other than through a window. Add to that a medication change for me which was like putting oil on an already lit fire. I'm happy to say that all is well now.

I don't necessarily have a scripture specifically but I hope what I have to say encourages and inspires you.

If you've followed me for any length of time you know that I have epilepsy. My seizures are focal with impairment. Basically, if you didn't know I was day dreaming. Over the last three months as I've made this medication change I've had breakthrough seizures as my brain has gotten used to the dose. The worst place to have a seizure is the kitchen and the bathroom. My brain's favorite place mis-fire seems to be the shower and when I'm standing the only place for me to go is down.

During this last medication change I found myself praying before getting into the shower saying "It's You and me, God. Just get me through this shower." The relief I felt each time was overwhelming. And if I got anxious while showering I'd just sing Jesus Loves Me.

Psalm 34:4 I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from my fears. ESV is the scripture that fits perfectly. God is just like that, huh? Bringing something simple to our mind so we can focus back on Him.

He cares about every bit of our lives and wants us to come to Him with everything. Even taking a shower.

Now, it's your turn . . . what scripture has touched your heart this week? Let me know in the comments and then go visit my friends for more encouragement!

Amen! God is so good to bring Scripture to mind when we need it most.

What a great reminder. God is so good! 🙏
My daughter has seizures too and we're currently transitioning medication. It's been a unique journey the last month during the med change. We, too, have had to rely a lot on God just to get us through each day. Seizures are no joke! I pray your medication brings you the relief you seek!
