Thursday Encouragement 16

Hi! I hope wherever you are you are safe and enjoying your summer. Today, I'm going to talk about being kind with your words.

The one who guards his mouth preserves his life; The one who opens wide his lips comes to ruin. Proverbs 13:3 NASB

Now, upon reading you might not think this has anything to do with being kind but it does. Proverbs is wisdom and in our crazy world we need every bit of wisdom we can get.

As I look around social media, our news, which I don't watch, you see get an up close and personal view of people not knowing that guarding their mouth is a sign of wisdom.

I know that this is a tumultuous time in our country. I just don't understand why people feel the need to be mean especially to others they call friends. I'm watching a huge divide between believers that I never thought I'd see. I so long to see others encouraging each other. Lifting them up when they're hurting.

I'm going to challenge you to encourage someone today. Lift their spirit by speaking kindness. If you don't agree politically, in beliefs, in reading material push those aside and be kind. We never know what someone is going through so being kind and loving is the least we can do and Jesus calls us to love each other as He first loved us!

Now, it's your turn! Let me know what scripture has ministered to you this week and then go visit my other friends for more Thursday Encouragement.

People want to hate, and they don't want to be told they're wrong. They're against facts and truth. It's devastating. It's been hard to see people I call friends tear people apart. 🥺😭

I don’t think people, believers in general want to hate. I think they want to be heard and those that disagree listen to respond not to have a conversation. We need to listen, have conversations, and grow. Sometimes admitting we’re wrong opens the door for conversation. It’s a devastating time in America and God’s people should be the balm of Gilead to everyone hurting.
