Yes, Kiss Me Again . . . An Intro to Kissing # 2

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!! Are you looking for some romantic kissing swoon? I sure hope so! I also hope that the kisses I've chosen increase your temperature just a bit and make you think of your sweetheart.

He kissed her. His touch was so achingly familiar. Soft, but still a jolt went through her. The taste of the cigarette he’d smoked while waiting for her to finish with the cops. The lingering cologne, something exotic mixed with the scent of the street. The cotton of his undershirt beneath her hand, the hard planes of his gym-honed chest. His arms curled around her, tugging her in, and for a moment, she surrendered. She softened her mouth to him, let him linger. Call it fatigue or simply loneliness, but she could admit that being with Felipe felt like she’d unearthed a piece of herself that she’d buried so many years ago.

He watched her face for guidance, but she didn’t move, didn’t back away. With careful deliberation, he lowered his lips to hers for the gentlest of kisses. Her lips proved as soft as he’d imagined, an untouched delicacy. The kiss ended much too quickly, but he needed to gauge her response. When he pulled back, she remained unmoving, eyes closed, hands in the pot of water. With a tip of her smile, her gaze fluttered to his. “That was. . .the sweetest thing.”

Before she could talk herself out of it, she pulled off her hat and stretched up to kiss him. It didn’t take long for Justin to recover and draw her closer, his hands going to her waist. If he’d been surprised by her forwardness, now he was in no hurry to move away, every brush of his mouth becoming a question, an inquiry, an exploration. When he teased apart her lips, she somehow lost her balance, melting into him until nothing remained but that moment: his scent, his taste, the feel of his muscular body against her soft one. He finally broke the kiss and stepped back, leaving her shaken and unsteady.

Here's a fan. Go ahead and take a quick break and cool off!

Then in one smooth move his arm lowered across my back, and he pivoted us so my spine was flush against the side of the shed and his wide shoulders blocked the view of our audience at the windows. His other hand came up to cup the side of my face, and his thumb grazed across my cheekbone. He didn’t say anything, but the way his eyes moved back and forth between mine was a conversation in itself. If only I spoke that language. And then, in a breath, his lips were on mine. It wasn’t two semis colliding like my kiss had been. No, it was perfection. Every sigh-worthy, swoon-worthy romantic climax to every tale ever told unfolded in that kiss. His lips moved over mine, igniting a passion and longing deep in my soul. My hands slid over his chest, clung to his shirt as I pulled him in even closer to me. Clinging, because I knew if I didn’t hold on for dear life, I’d plunge over the cliff of no return.

Katie reached up and kissed him full on the lips, redirecting his mind toward more immediate matters. “In the meanwhile, what do you say we focus on that ball team?” Luke grinned as he nuzzled her throat, gently pushing her back down on the couch. “Just warming up to run the bases, coach,” he whispered, teasing her lips open with a playful flick of his tongue. “But I’m warning you right now, Katie Rose.” He leaned in to deepen his kiss, body thrumming while he explored her mouth with his own. “It’s gonna be a home run.”

He nearly kissed her in that breath, fast and firm and achingly swift, but he had to pull on every ounce of his self-control for his touch to be as feather-light as possible. His father’s teaching was the only thing keeping him sane. You will go to them humbly. Humbly. You will go to them with strength. Strength. You will go to them without fear. No fear. And then his lips met hers. She was soft and she was silk. His mind and heart whirled with all that she was to him. Like the dripping of wax to an envelope, he felt a press and a pain and a freedom that something had just sealed inside him. He held her that way for only a heartbeat, then pulled away. But she slid her hand behind his neck and tugged him back. Kissing him. And then his world went white. Everything but her… gone.

His mouth met hers softly and then thoroughly, so capably she didn’t want him to stop. Nor did he want to, clearly. Within the intimacy of those endless kisses came a melding of thoughts and desires, hopes and dreams. A oneness that bespoke a coming union that time and distance could not alter.

Are you still with me? *Tap *Tap *Tap . . . Breathing? I hope so! If you feel weak in the knees feel free to take a break on this fainting couch.

Are you woozy? Melting in a puddle? I hope so! That's what these kisses are supposed to do. Suspend our thinking and make us dreamy. If you've read any of these author's books before I'm sure you've experienced these emotions more than once.

I want to know your favorite kisses. Tell me in the comments and then visit my dear friend Carrie, of Reading Is Super Power and see her kissing post.
