Still on Milk not yet able to eat Solid Food
These verses came to mind as I was thinking about who we choose to hang around.
1 Corinthians 3:1-3
And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to men of flesh, as to infants in Christ.
I gave you milk to drink, not solid food; for you were not yet able to receive it. Indeed, even now you are not yet able, for you are still fleshly. For since there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not fleshly, and are you not walking like mere men? NASB
When I think about these verses I am reminded about a group that I am very thankful for and yet am so glad I am no longer apart of any longer. They were very helpful when I was going through my divorce, full of encouragement, and love. Yet now as I look at them from the outside looking in, I see that they are like infants not willing to grow and move on, and it breaks my heart. I ache for them.
I said that to say this, I want to be in a company of friends where there is growth and accountability. That is important to me. If we aren't growing we are stagnant and of no use.
How about you? Do you think these verses could apply to our friendships? I want to hear from you.
