Mid-Year Freak Out Tag

My friend, Courtney from The Green Mockingbird  posted this Mid-Year Freak Out post on Twitter and I thought it would be fun to do. It's the middle of the year, we're five months away from Christmas! YIKES!!!!

Top Ten Tuesday is a freebie this week so I'm going to be doing this instead. Consider yourself tagged! If you'd like to participate please do!

Best Book I've Read So Far -

The Line Between (The Line Between #1)

It was really hard to choose a favorite book for the first seven months of the year. I chose this one because of it's unique subject matter.

Best Sequel -

I can't say enough wonderful things about this book and series. It transported me back in time and even with the feuding I so wish I could've stayed there for awhile longer.

New Release I haven't Read But I Need To -

I am so incredibly behind in my reading! I got sick, my dad was diagnosed with early onset dementia, and life has been incredibly crazy. I promise, Karen Barnett that I will read this!!

Most Anticipated Read(s) For the 2nd Half of 2019 -

Once again I can't just choose one book. I am so excited for each of these books and I love that they are completely different genres. Historical romance, and a fantasy space opera.

Biggest Disappointment -

I hate to say or use the word "disappointment." I'd rather say that this particular book and I, for whatever reason did not connect like I have with the author's previous books. Which breaks my heart since this author is one of my favorites.

Biggest Surprise -

It's interesting that a book by Robin Jones Gunn was a surprise for me. I loved her Sisterchicks series, but I didn't read her Christy Miller series, and since this new series is based on the character's from her Christy Miller series I wasn't sure how well I'd like it. Well, I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Favorite New to You or Debut Author -

Again, I just can't chose one. Both of these author's are new to me and these books are just amazing, and I am so glad I read them. In their own way they've enriched my life.

Newest Fictional Crush -

Josh Dixon. He has a bad boy persona, has been hurt, and it has taught him what's important in caring for a woman who has also been hurt. I am partial to bad boys!

Newest Favorite Character -

Leif Metcalfe was in Ronie Kendig's Tox Files series, but this time he's the guy in charge and I really liked seeing him shine.

Book(s) That Made You Cry -

I bawled off and on through both of these books. With that said I can't recommend these books enough!

Books That Made Me Happy -

Love and Other Mistakes

I read each of these after I read the each of the two books that made me cry. I needed a true laugh out loud, and something to make me smile and these did just that.

Favorite Book to Film Adaptation -

The Art of Racing in the Rain

I read this book when it came out in 2008 and I loved it. I really hope it is as good as the book was.

Favorite Blog Post I've Done This Year -

My review of Between Stairs and Stardust was my most popular blog post this year. I adore Pepper Basham's book's and her Cinderella-esque story in this collection is a favorite.

Most Beautiful Book I've Bought This Year -

Romanov

I don't buy many books, mainly because I receive so many for review, but when I saw this cover back last year sometime I knew I had to splurge on it. I hope I can get it read before college football season starts.

Books I Need to Read by the End of the Year -

My year TBR pile is quickly becoming it's own island. I know I have more but these are the ones that come to mind immediately mainly because they're staring at me from my book tree.

The Medallion
The Waves (Love In Chaos #1)

RomanovThe Sky Above Us (Sunrise at Normandy, #2)
The Printed Letter BookshopThe Story Raider (The Weaver Trilogy, #2)

I really hope you'll participate in this Mid-Year Freak Out Tag. I'd love to see your choices. If you decide to leave your blog addy in the comments so I can check your Mid-Year Freak Out Post.
