Title: To Disguise the Truth

Author: Jen Turano

Series: The Bleeker Street Inquiry Agency 3

When Arthur Livingston arrives out of the blue at the Bleecker Street Inquiry Agency, anxious to hire the agency to seek out a missing heiress, Eunice Holbrooke realizes her past has finally caught up with her.

Having fled from the scene of her grandfather's murder seven years before, Eunice is a lady with secrets--the most important that she is the missing heiress Arthur is seeking. She has no intention of allowing him to learn she's been disguising herself, especially when she has reason to believe Arthur could hold her responsible for her grandfather's death.

In order to avoid Arthur and conceal her real identity, Eunice takes on another case that requires her to go deep undercover. With secrets from the past--and Arthur--appearing wherever she looks, she wonders how she will ever uncover the truth behind her grandfather's murder. Will what she discovers set Eunice free or place her in peril's way?

My Thoughts

Jen Turano is one of the funniest voices in inspirational historical fiction. She takes the most mundane activities and turns them into pure hilarity; leaving the reader in stitches!

When I pick up a Jen Turano novel I know that I am not only going to be laughing, which is good for our health, I will be transported into another time and place.

In this last novel of The Bleeker Street Inquiry Agency, Ms. Turano showed how the women of the time were treated in insane asylums. It was raw and real.

I loved Eunice and Arthur and the banter between them. The secondary characters were just as fun and quirky. The mystery within these pages is compelling and has loads of twists and turns. Just when I thought I had it figured out I found I was wrong. The faith element wasn't overwhelming yet strong enough for the reader to recognize.

Ms. Turano wrapped this story and series wonderfully; although I am very sad to say goodbye to these characters.
