Thursday Encouragement # 2

Happy Friday Eve!!! I hope you've had a good week. I've recently teamed up with a group of bloggers to bring you a little encouragement for your Thursday.

On Sunday our pastor was speaking about salt and light using Matthew 5:13 as his background passage. During his sermon, which I call a lecture because he teaches like a professor, anyway he mentioned this scripture . . . Let your conversation be gracious and attractive Colossians 4:6 ESV A scripture I was surprised I didn't remember. It made me think is my conversation gracious and attractive? My daughter and I talked about it later. Not only about our words but are we allowing someone who won't point us back to God to weigh in on struggles we're going through? That really made me stop and think.

In our world of the internet and social media we get a open window view of people and their personal life. When we respond to them are we being gracious and attractive with our speak? For me it's much deeper, am I pointing them back to the only person who has any control of the outcome.

I want to be gracious and attractive in my conversation but my deep desire is no matter what I say or do I want to point people back to Christ. The deep cry of my heart.

I appreciate your post today. It has made me stop and think about the conversations I've been a part of and the conversations I've started. Thank you for this self-reflection.

Hi, Nicole,

You are welcome! We're the body of Christ and we're supposed to encourage and uplift one another. <3

I am so glad, my Becca girl! While this was my pastor's sermon on Sunday, I've been thinking about who I listen to, human wise, and what I expose myself to. I believe we can get caught up in the fun of social media and not pay attention to how that stuff can affect us. Well, at least for me. ;) <3
