Each year I ask God for a word and verse to focus on for the new year. I don't make new year's resolutions, because I won't keep them and they seem to be superficial. Don't get me wrong I'm all for being healthy and losing weight, but I feel as if a lot of focus is on the outside and not the inside, and I prefer to focus on the inside. I believe if I become better on the inside it reflects on the outside.
The word that God gave me for this year is Blessings. To be one and to count them. I have noticed that when things happen in my life I tend to focus on the negativity and not on the blessings that God has given me, even if I am going through a trial. So this year I am going to focus on Blessing(s).
The scripture that God gave me is from the Old Testament, which surprised me.
Numbers 6:24-26
The Lord bless you, and keep you; The Lord make His face shine on you, and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance on you, and give you peace.
