What Follows After by Dan Walsh

About the book:

In October 1962, Colt Harrison and his little brother, Timmy, hatched a plan. They would run away from their Florida home, head for their aunt's house in Savannah, Georgia, and refuse to come home until their parents got back together. But things go terribly, terribly wrong. Colt's mother and father must come to grips with years of neglect and mistrust in order to recover their beloved sons, their love for one another, and their broken marriage.
In this emotional story, Dan Walsh takes readers on a journey to rediscover the things that matter most in life--love, truth, and family.

My Take:

When I pick up a Dan Walsh novel, I know I am in for an emotional roller coaster ride, and What Follows After was that and more.
Imagine you and your spouse are having difficulties, you separate, and force your children to lie about your separation. The kids hate it, and decide to run away in hopes that it will bring them back together. That is exactly what happens in this book. Colt the older brother convinces his younger brother, Timmy to run away. While running away is bad enough, something terrible happens that puts the entire family on pins and needles, it also sets the reader on the edge of their seats, turning pages faster than they can catch all the action. This by far is my favorite Dan Walsh novel, and will make my top list for the year! Don't miss this great book!

Highly recommended!
