A HOPE UNDAUNTED ~REVIEWED~

Book Description: What happens when the boy she loved to hate becomes the man she hates to love?

The 1920s are drawing to a close, and feisty Katie O'Connor is the epitome of the new woman--smart and sassy with goals for her future that include the perfect husband and a challenging career in law. Her boyfriend Jack fits all of her criteria for a husband--good-looking, well-connected, wealthy, and eating out of her hand. But when she is forced to spend the summer of 1929 with Luke McGee, the bane of her childhood existence, Katie comes face-to-face with a choice. Will she follow her well-laid plans to marry Jack? Or will she fall for the man she swore to despise forever?

My Review: Little Katydid is all grown up, has her own mind, dreams and aspirations, and quite the spunk! I really didn't think anyone could come close to Charity in the spunk department, yet Katie comes awful close. Katie's biggest obstacle is her father Patrick. She wants to go out with her boyfriend, Jack and come home when she wants, instead her father has "rules" and Katie must come home at curfew, when she misses her curfew yet again she is informed she will be "volunteering" at The Boston Children's Aid Society for the summer to teach her some humility and mercy. It's at Brady's birthday party that Katie finds out that Cluny McGee is not the little kid that Brady took in, his name is now Luke, he's a lawyer and will be working with her at the Boston Children's Aid Society during the summer. As you can imagine sparks fly! I mean Luke is a hunk, and Katie just doesn't want to admit that down deep inside she may have some feelings for him, nor he for her. Which creates lots of romantic tension, that is just FUN!!!
Julie has once again created a story with such emotion that you can't turn the pages fast enough. I have been in love with the O'Connors since A Passion Most Pure. This family is a true family in every sense of the word. They are real, with faults, and scars, yet they they rely fully on God. It is absolutely beautiful. I give this book a lighthouse and shine a light on it for pointing a path to God.
I highly recommend this book and The Daughter's of Boston Series. I'll post my links to my reviews of those books
