THE BAG OF GOODS WE'VE BEEN SOLD . . .

Each day as I do my job and see the different "marital" help books that are reviewed on different blogs I can't help but shake my head and say OH NO, NOT ANOTHER ONE! Each year the divorce rate rises and those books don't do anything but maybe put a bandaid on a gaping wound. After 24 yrs of marriage, countless seminars, marriage retreats, and now a divorce. I can tell you that as Christians we've been sold a bag of goods. We've been told that we're suppose to love our mate unconditionally, to forgive & forget, that women are to continue to give and not take from their spouse. Let me tell you that is not at all Biblical nor is it what God intended. Yes! He loves us unconditionally yet, He puts conditions on us! John 3:16 says For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son and who so ever BELIEVES in Him shall have eternal life. There is a condition - did you catch it - BELIEVES - We have conditions to all kinds of things in life. We apply for a mortgage loan and get the loan, yet to finalize it we have to sign the papers, and it even goes further than that . . . to keep the loan we have to make the payments.
