Your poor, poor soul - you seem to have a monster-in-law. When you think of your mother-in-law you don't envision quaint images of homemade cookies and shopping trips you've taken together. Instead, you imagine being nitpicked to death by a fire-breathing dragon, right? Unfortunately, mommy dearest is in your life for good, so you'll have to make due. Your husband may suggest that you ignore her snide comments and not take them personally. But, since you've noticed your silence only makes it worse, you'll have to take matters into your own hands. It doesn't look like your husband is going to risk getting on his mom's bad side by sticking up for little ol' you. Next time, rather than having to grin and bear it, stick up for yourself. It may cause some discomfort, but at least she'll know you're no longer willing to get pushed around.
