ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Patti Lacy graduated from Baylor University in 1977 with a B.S. in education. She taught at Heartland Community College in Normal, Illinois, until she retired in 2006 to pursue writing full time. She has two grown children with her husband, Alan, and lives in Illinois.

FROMMIPOV: This author spends a lot of time going back and forth from the past into the present with this story. The main character Mary, has a hard time dealing with a horrible dysfunctional family life that she grew up with. She's now taking care of her ill mother, raising teen daughters, and continues to re-live daily a past incident that happened. The author's continuous over and over of this one particular time in this character's life is too redundant, and I just really didn't care for the book. Out of 5 stars I give it 2.
