NALANI MY GRANDDAUGHTER HAS ARRIVED

I am so excited! After 9 months of waiting and 15 hours of labor, and a scary C-section Nalani Malia arrived at 8:52pm PST, on Friday, April 11th. She weighed 7 lbs. even, 19.5" long.

Stefani's water broke at 5:11am and she went to the hospital, she called her dad and said "Dad, I'm on the way to the hospital and I am naked from the waist down, Tori said, "she's leaving puddles everywhere!" LOL Stef arrived at the hospital and they got her all set up. Contractions didn't begin right away so they inserted a balloon catheter, like they would use in heart catheterization in her cervix to help her dilate. Around 7pm she was at 6 centimeters, but Nalani was experiencing stress with each contraction and while Tori and Stef were fine with staying the course, others were getting anxious. Stef and Tori discussed their options with the medical staff and opted to have a C-Section. It was a good thing that did, because when the surgeon opened Stef up, all he saw was Nalani's cord. She had it around her neck and she was twisted in it. Had they continued with labor and waited, it would've resulted in an emergency C-Section.

Mother, baby, and father are doing awesome! And as you can see from the picture, she is absolutely her Granny's pride and joy!
