For King and Country Concert Review . . . well sort of.

I don't go to many concerts, mainly because they are really loud, and both the noise and light show can cause me to have a seizure. Plus there aren't a lot of people I really want to spend money to see. Friday night was different, Our local Christian radio station, KTSY was putting on a benefit concert for one of their DJ's who is currently battling brain cancer and we decided to go and support this young man and his family.
I had listened to For King and Country songs on the radio, but nothing could have prepared me for the show I got to see. In case you don't know the two front men for the band, Joel and Luke Smallbone are from Australia, and the younger brothers to Rebecca St. James. I had no idea that they were related.
When Joel and Luke take the stage you feel as if you have entered a different era. Joel is a vest and evening coat, and Luke in a jacket and vest. Not the tight black jeans you see on most rock stars.
During this two and a half hour concert I felt as if I was not only at musical concert but an orchestra concert as well. I haven't seen that many instruments in one place since I was in marching band, and I couldn't see everything. It wasn't just your normal drums, guitar, and keyboard, add a bass drum, cymbals, double bass, trombone, trumpet, violin and I'm pretty sure there was a French horn. In the song Run Wild, Joel begins the song singing through a megaphone with a microphone at the end, which was pretty cool. Besides these two young men jumping all over the stage and out into the audience, where I thought a couple of young girls would need to be resuscitated, 😉 they were playing all kinds of different instruments, which I have to say absolutely made the concert. I saw all kinds of different ages in attendance, from 9 to mid 60's.
Both Joel and Luke are very passionate about the priceless movement, which they started with their song by the same title, Priceless, along with a indie movie that Joel Smallbone stars in also by the same title, Priceless. It's about sex-trafficking, yet it is also about women realizing their worth, knowing that it's not based on what they see in the mirror, or what society and a man tells them. We purchased the movie and my husband and I watched it this weekend. It is very powerful and shows once again how prevalent sex-trafficking and a woman's worth means so little.

Here is the video of Priceless

I found a new band to listen too, and can't wait to see them in concert again, and if you get a chance to see them in concert, GO!!!

Here are the lyrics to Priceless (Copyright of For King and Country)

Mirror mirror, mirror on the wall
Tellin' those lies, pointing out your flaws
That isn’t who you are
That isn’t who you are

[Verse 2: Joel]
It might be hard to hear, but let me tell you dear
If you could see what I can see, I know you would believe
That isn’t who you are
There’s more to who you are

[Pre-Chorus: Luke]
So when it’s late, you’re wide awake
To much to take
Don’t you dare forget that in the pain
You can be brave, can be safe

[Chorus]
I see you dressed in white
Every wrong made right
I see a rose in bloom
At the sight of you (oh so priceless)
Irreplaceable, unmistakable, incomparable
Darling, it’s beautiful
I see it all in you (oh so priceless)

[Verse 3: Joel]
No matter what you’ve heard, this is what your worth
More than all the money or the diamonds and pearls
Oh this is who you are
Yea this is who you are

[Pre-Chorus: Luke]
So when it’s late, you’re wide awake
To much to take
Don’t you dare forget that in the pain
You can be brave, can be safe

[Chorus]
I see you dressed in white
Every wrong made right
I see a rose in bloom
At the sight of you (oh so priceless)
Irreplaceable, unmistakable, incomparable
Darling, it’s beautiful
I see it all in you (oh so priceless)

[Bridge]
Sisters, we can start again
Give honor till the end
Love, we can start again
Brothers, we can start again
Give honor till the end
Yea, we can start again
(2x)

[Chorus]
I see you dressed in white
Every wrong made right
I see a rose in bloom
At the sight of you

[Chorus]
I see you dressed in white
Every wrong made right
I see a rose in bloom
At the sight of you (oh so priceless)
(You're) Irreplaceable, unmistakable, incomparable
Darling, it’s beautiful
I see it all in you (oh so priceless)

[Outro]
I see you dressed in white
Every wrong made right
I see a rose in bloom
At the sight of you
(3x)
I see you dressed in white
Every wrong made right
Oh so priceless
