The Desire by Dan Walsh and Gary Smalley

About the book: For two years, Allan and Michele have been trying to have a baby. The emotional ride has been taking a toll on their hearts--and their relationship. Michele is obsessed with researching fertility treatments while Allan seems content to spend his time--and their money--on supporting displaced children in Africa. Something's got to give. But they both hope it's not their marriage.

Still, God has a plan for Allan and Michele that they could never have imagined. And all it takes to set it in motion is a change of heart . . .

Dan Walsh's debut novel, The Unfinished Gift, rec'd a 4.5 Stars/Top Pick rating from RT Book Reviews and won 2 Carol Awards. It continues to be an Amazon bestseller during the Christmas season 4 years later.

With the sequel, The Homecoming, book reviewers began to liken his writing to NY Times bestselling author, Nicholas Sparks. Dan's 3rd novel, The Deepest Waters, earned his 3rd Carol Award for Best Short Historical. His 4th novel, Remembering Christmas became his first bestseller.

Since then, Dan has written 4 more novels. The Discovery and The Reunion were both finalists for RT's Inspirational Book of the Year. The Reunion has also been optioned for a movie by a Hallmark producer.

The other 2 novels, The Dance and The Promise, are co-authored with Gary Smalley, part of a 4-book series. The Dance has already become a CBA and an ECPA Bestseller.

Dan lives in the Daytona Beach area with his wife, Cindi, where he's busy researching and writing his next novel. They've been married for 36 years and have 2 grown children and 1 grandson.

Gary Smalley is the chairman of the board of the Smalley Relationship Center and the author and coauthor of more than 40 books. Host of the nationally syndicated radio show Smalley LIVE!, Smalley has appeared on national television programs including Oprah, Larry King Live and The Today Show, as well as numerous national radio programs. He and his wife, Norma, have been married 40 years and live in Branson, Mo. They have three adult children and eight grandchildren.Visit Gary's website at www.dnaofrelationships.com

My Thoughts:
In the third book by the team of Walsh and Smalley is a page turner just like The Dance and The Promise, don't worry if you haven't read the other two books, this book can stand alone.
In this book we watch the struggle that Allan and Michele have, hers for a biological child and his to start an orphanage in Africa.
The book is very realistic, if you are familiar with Gary Smalley's relationship ministry you can trace his hand in the book.
I only had one issue in the book and that was at the beginning with Michele. Michele frequents a park on her lunch hour and is appalled that the mothers sitting on the park bench "ignoring" their children when they call out asking for their mom to watch or come push them on the swing.
I am an adopted child, and know I was wanted from day one, I also know that my mom enjoyed her time with other moms talking adult talk, not baby talk.
I would recommend this book!
