Shakespeare's Lady Reviewed

Book Blurb:
...a love story between William Shakespeare and the Dark Lady from his sonnets. The author, Alexa Schnee, took what facts she could find about Shakespeare and Emilia Lanier, the woman she postulates is the mysterious woman from his famous poems, and has built a romance around them. It dances on the line between fact and fiction, and brings the true facts—about Shakespeare, Queen Elizabeth, Tudor society—to life in a way a history book never could.

My Thoughts:
I was surprised when I received this book in the mail. It was a pleasant surprise as I am an avid fan of the Tudor era. I was drawn into the world of William Shakespeare and I didn't want to leave. This is a book that you will want to savor and enjoy. I know I will read it again. I highly recommend it! Thanks to Guideposts for the advanced copy to read! I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Blue Moon Promise - Reviewed

About the book:
Book Number One in the Under Texas Stars series

A love like Lucy and Nate’s only comes along once in a blue moon . . .

Lucy Marsh's worldly resources are running out, but she's fiercely determined to care for her younger brother and sister. When she discovers that their father's recent death was no accident, Lucy is eager to leave town. She accepts a proxy marriage she believes will provide safe refuge. But trouble follows her to Texas where her new husband is surprised to suddenly have a wife and children to care for.

Nate Stanton always hoped he'd marry someday, but running the family ranch meant he had no time for romance. When his father deposits Lucy Marsh—a city girl—on his doorstep, with two siblings in the bargain, he expects ranch life will send her running on the first train out of town. But Lucy is made of tougher stuff than Nate imagined. When danger moves in, Nate finds he'd give anything to protect Lucy and the children he's grown to love. Even if it means giving up his ranch.

My Thoughts: Loved, Loved, Loved this book! Lucy is living in Chicago with her siblings Jed and Eileen working as a seamstress. She arrives home one day to find out the boarding house she's been living in is being sold and she has one week to find another place to live. In walks Henry Stanton with a plan of his own. He wants a wife for his son and he proposes to Lucy that she marry his son Nate right then and there, the children will have a place to live, as will she, and Nate gave him power to act on his behalf. Lucy's world begins to spin out of control. She's not sure she should do this but she does, and when she returns to Texas with Nate's father Nate is shocked and a tid bit mad, to say the least. Lucy is determined to prove she can be a ranchers wife, not to mention there are some bad guys after them.

Colleen pulled me in from page one and didn't let up until the last page! I fell in love with little Eileen and Jed. I can't wait till the 2nd book in this series. I highly recommend this book!
