FAITH'NFICTON SATURDAYS

It's Saturday, and once again time for Faith 'n Fiction with my friend Amy. Today's question is . . .

Today's Question:
You have a good friend who is a devoted Christian and voracious reader. He or she, however, tried to read a Christian fiction book in the past and found it to be too preachy and unrealistic. Your friend wants to try it again and has asked you for a recommendation. Their favorite genre of book is what is considered literary fiction. What book would you recommend to them?

You also have a friend who is not a Christian but wants to read fiction that is considered clean without being too Christian. They have asked you if there are Christian fiction books that might meet their reading needs. They are interested in romance and novels. What book would you recommend to them?

For friend number 1- I would recommend any of Karen Kingsbury's books. They are very realistic and not preachy at all. The first book I would read of hers would be Ocean's Apart. Awesome book!

For friend number 2- Julie Lessman's Boston of Daughter's Series comes to mind as well as Tiffany Amber Miller's Delaware Dawning Series. Both are wonderful!

I've read a good bit of Kingsbury's books, and I know that she's a bit hit among Christian readers. Happy Faith ‘n Fiction Day. Here’s my answer:

Several people have mentioned Julie Lessman. I'll have to give her a try.

Wow! To be listed among the ranks of Kingsbury and Lessman. What an honor! While I have no hope whatsoever of Karen ever reading one of my books, Julie did read my first one and gave me a fantastic review. Said she couldn't wait for the next.

So thank you, for recommending me to your Christian friend who is interested in romance and novels. This was a blessing to read this morning. :)
